Singer-songwriter with noise-pop/post-punk/oddball sounds with dry comedic/satiric elements; Anna Erhard is based in Berlin (originally from Switzerland)--songs have some common threads: oddball/quirky timbres (synth and guitar) and a lot of sing-talking in her heavily accented voice; it's funny stuff, and also sounds rich and interesting and great--
RIYL Jonathan Richman, Courtney Barnett, Sonny Smith
1.
(3:09) ***** Midtempo, arch, warp-drumbeat stomping--addressed to a friend falsely claiming to be 170 cm (5'7") - "your parents are both quite lovely, but unfortunately they are also short"
2. (3:08) *** bright, driving tempo, about online reviews of a botanical garden; sunny chorus
3. (4:52) **** Sing-talking over a spare, walking guitar; mopey story about knowing a guy in the Blue Man Group; repetitive, turgid in amusing way--squonky buzzy guitar noise
4. (2:52) ***** Pretty, squeaky backing track; sing-talking through an anecdote about swimming in underwear--hypnotic effect
5. (3:09) **** Bleepy synth sounds with sing/talking anecdote about a neighbor having to deal with mailed packages; nicely atonal and noisy; fake fade-out with thirty-second final verse with more ominous drum-machine timbre
6. (3:39) **** Glitchy 80s sound, sing-talking about a "hot family"--"Oh my god, this family was hot"--upbeat tone
7. (3:22) **** Warpy-repetitive guitar riff, hypnotically under sing-talked song about finding money--country rock vibe with steel guitar or something
8. (2:52) **** Bright-colored but goofy-timber, funny story about realizing you're in your last cycle of reincarnation
9. (3:02) ** Minor-key dirge over clappy/clicky beat
