Drop Out III

Primo Krautrock flavored psych space rock. Tripped out guitar (stoner in ways), solid bass and drums, and groovy organ or meteoric synth. No “vocals” but vocalizations here and there. Collaboration between two of the greatest in that genre, UK and NYC artists. This is the second Drop Out collab (despite the “III”?). Each band has been possessed by the gods and together they cannot be stopped. Some tracks are gleefully long for those of us who cant get enough of a good thing. Tracks 9-15 are a “special bonus album digital only! For fans of the greatest Wooden Shijps, Neu, Acid Mothers Temple, Acid.

1 (8:58)* killer beat, killer simple farfisa, searing tasteful guitar leads. 2)*(9:44) excellent Neu love for sure with a driving beat and feel with some buried vocals 3) (7:58) pensive tribal tone, subdued with more of a composed cinematic “real” song-less jam 4) (10:04) heavy head nodder with echoey trippy vocals 5) (13:35) long trippy dippy hippie slow belly button stare feels like there should be tablas but i think theres a conga. 6) (3:49) ambient washes dominate this mindful meditation 7) (3:50) a noise piece, no drums, looped layers 8) (13:17) starts with total space ambience but evolves to another great tripped out jam, some vocalizations appear that are louder, words are even discernable, gets louder with wha wha, pretty 60’s. 9) (21:27) long trippy with distant subliminal voice messages 10) (3:24) discordant mournful bass-led 11) (13:52) a funny jam with a shuffley urgent drum beat, strange 12) (10:55) slow head nodder with stoner riffage for sure that heads deep into phase/string shifter filters13) (8:33) total Neu love again, the driving beat, glorious synth and jangle guitar, feels low fi live 14) (11:25) noisey balm drones with drums carrying a disjunct beat over it, avante 15 (5:14) off meter weird guitar melody dominates this and drums play around it with an ambient drone, abstract.
