Babatunde Lea-March of the Jazz Guerrillas
Cheerful, Afro-Cuban flavored Jazz, led by Bay Area percussionist Babatunde Lea. Mainly straight jazz with some extra rhythm elements and a couple of vocal numbers. I recommend tracks 2, 4, 5, and 9
1) Warm steady, hint of Latin flavor. Repetitive theme with vocals
2) Rhythmic Descarga
3) Slow with piano and drums with horn solos
4) Percussion to start, 70s style soul vocal (way better than the Bobby Matos version)
5) Up-tempo straight ahead jazz
6) Down tempo, solos all around, some deep, soft percussion at end
7) Vocal jazz, supported by rhythm section (percussion, piano, bass)
8) Interlocking percussion, unremarkable sax
9) Bass solo to start, into heavy rhythmic piece-stops and starts
