Tino's Breaks Volume 5: Dub
Dub break beat DJ Battle record. This is the fifth installment of the brilliant Tino's Breaks Series, put together by Ben Stokes (H-GUN Labs) and Jack Dangers (Meat Beat Manifesto), produced by Mike Powel (Meat Beat, etc). Since volume 3, Tino's Breaks has had a theme for each volume (vol 3: Christmas, vol 4: Mambo, vol 5: Dub). This disc is designed as a turntablist tool, with lots of random noises/sound effects/dialogue snippets to cut. The breaks are dubs (processed, tripped out reggae) mixed with some fine Tino break beats. In all, highly recommended, although not really meant to be listened to straight through on CD. My favorite dubs are tracks 4 and 6. See below for track titles (in italics)

1) D-U-B Dub Scratch track intro fax machine sounds into slow dub
2) FX Sound effects
3) Tuff Dub Groovin mid-tempo dub
4) Kickit Dub *Cool drum instruction dialog. Funky Breakbeat
5) Dialogue
6) Toasted Dub Funny samples, down-tempo reggae
7) Sunday Dub Scratch track/spacey dub
8) Scratch Tracks Tripped out drum and horn samples, random bits of voice
9) Intro Goofy Dialogue
10) Body Dub Mellow, mid-tempo dub
11) Hole In the Sky Dub Spooky spacey dub
12) Elegant Dub Dub
13) Liquid Dub Up-tempo dub
14) Scratch tracks, romper room dialogue
15) Bit, Jamaican dialogue
16) Scratch tracks, random noises, dialogue
