A copy of my "dj review":
Excellent creative indie rock, pop. Epic quality to compositions, nice instrumentation. Male-female vocs trade off between songs, sometimes en espanol. Some songs have epic indie rock anthem quality (think: Rock*A*Teens, Pavement, Bowie) others are beautiful lush ballads or soundscapes. From Dallas, redeeming the entire state of Texas in one fell swoop. 1) slow-mid plodding w/simple beat that develops into complexity, epicly phrased female vocs/harmonies 2) upbeat indie rock but w/ fem vocs en espanol, horn, epic bridge/false ending 3) piano based melancholy ballad but w/ mid drum beat, smarmy wah’ed guit+sax, male vocs 4) upbeat peppy drumbeat, synth heavy new-wave quality, brief instrumental 5) big indie rock sound, lots of vocs and sounds, percussion, cymbals, brief, strange ending, pot down at first fade near end 6) pretty, ambient solo echoey piano with lush drony noise soundbed, watch ending, brief 7) huge indie rock epic sound, big drums, strings, fem vocs 8) country twang ballad, male lead vocs, pedal steel guit, after 1-2 min indie rock beat enters 9) slow-mid plodding epic bowie ballad feel, fuzzy guits and simple drum beat, girl centered vocs 10) hic’ish guit, indie pop rock at its finest w/ male voc centered duet w/ girl backgrnds 11) en espanol, psych guit leads over upbeat 4/4 rock 12) basic folky rock w/ acous guit and subliminal noises, boy/girl vocs, excellent “goodbye” theme w/ lovely pedal steel in end.
