Film music” spanning 30 years. Ever more thematic and dramatic become the Residents. Strange stuff, no matter how dark and impending they sound, everything still takes on a sarcastic circus-like silliness. To the uninitiated: hard to describe this long time local fave- computer driven and treated, elements of avante compostition as well as rock and vaudeville (?!). Ridiculous “vocals” always.

1) brief dark plodding waltz’ish instrumental intro
2) cinematic brief take on their classic 3rd Reich and Roll, upbeat
3) dreamy ambient intro, dark w/ vocs slow mid tribal beat turns slow heavy epic
4) “typical” residents madness: childlike sentiments crossed w/ dark sickness
5) multi-parts, mostly dark and impending still maintains a certain circuslike silliness, instrumental
6) dark distant, childlike vocs
7) super silly vocs, slow and spooky mostly minimal
8) brief symphonic synth intro
9) synth plodding, super dorky and typical
10) old school creepy residents, synths, picks up a rhythm and becomes epic
11) upbeat bizarreness w/ spoken “lyrics”
12) live feel, collage of dark instruments w/ vocs
13) swingy brief interlude
14) dark stringlike synths, monor melodies, minimal 4/4 high hat beat, strange voice overs enter very late
15) brief mellow instrumental
