Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2001-10-31
Upbeat pop punk from all girl trio, slick guit sound and well recorded (nothing garagey or lo-fi trashy sassy). Almost mall-punk if it wasn’t for the estrogen injection, the vocals and lyrics. Vocal phrasing is good though sometimes falls into that generic pop punk recipe. All good, nothing earthshattering. More super-fun from Lookout (local super babes?).

1) upbeat rock and rock
2) same
3) rhythmic rock, male+fem duet
4) mid-up 4/4
5) east bay mall punk feel
6) upbeat pop punk w/ backing vocs
7) same
8) more
9) mellower epic open chord rock, good cuz it’s a little differen
10) upbeat pop punk w/ ultra hook, backing vocs
11) more pop, a bit sugarier
12) upbeat near 2/4 punk beat, still sugar coated, shifts to swingy triplet rhythm, then back
