Unusual acoustic band: guitar - sax/flute - drums - cello - oud - tuba - ! The result is kind of a pastoral free jazz (particularly on #3), mostly moderatly fast and aggressive, but muted a bit by the instrumentation. Lots of minor-key passages give it a sinister air, even. Very different and worthwhile.

Contrast with Threadgill's "Everybody's Mouth a Book," which was released at the same time.

1- Upbeat with a lightly swinging rhythm
2- Sinister post-bop feel
3- Mid/fast with piping flute
4- Slow, haunting. Tuba intro, searing sax solo
5- Fast and slashing
6- SLOW, creeping
7- Fast and bold. Rapid guitar solo.
