Soundtrack to a depressing movie. Tracks 1-15 are dramatic sad soundtrack music, you know the sort, written by (former Psychic TV cohort) Hilmar Orn Hilmarsson. 16 and 17 are Sigur Rós.
Soundtrack bits mostly fade in and out and most are short and quiet, which makes them a bit difficult to DJ with. Strings and guitar plucking (1, 2, 10), strings (3, 4, 6), strings and noise (7, 12), noise (8, 11, 14). Standouts - 5 (violin, helicopter beats, sickly ritard), 9 and 13 (orchestral and warm), 15 (processional, shifts from minor to major).
16. Adaptation of a sweet melancholy lullaby, with plodding drums and sweeping crescendi that are certain to keep the baby awake.
17. Adaptation of the music which precedes death notices and funeral announcements on Icelandic national radio. Starts quiet and appropriately funereal, builds to furious grief-stricken climax. Instrumental.
