German artist tastefully uses “live drums, synths, guits, upright bass, strings and tons of tape noise and effected distortions” to create excellent instrumental trippy melding of genres with an overall spacey feel. Jazzy beats incorporated bring to mind Amon Tobin, but not retro and certainly far more organic (and not funky) than Cujo himself. Maybe Third Eye Foundation (?) but still, no. This is undeniably unique and excellent. Somehow very sparse yet dense at the same time. Fine appreciation of noise as only the Germans know how, yet tuneful and pretty. All songs friggin rightous.
1) swingy near samba beat, pretty ringing looping ambience, sparse sounds, cool and chill
2) upbeat jazzy ride cymbal beat/rhythm, sounds join sparsely and build to a noise level, brilliant, false ending w/ 1+ min remaining
3) super sparse, simple mid paced drum beat w/ guit noodles and noise
4) drum beat and looping guits build into a noise wash, damn cool
5) upbeat jazzy beat again but much louder w/ noise sax sound etc, ends cold
6) Simple backbeat once again evolves into some tasteful noise moments
7) somehow epic melodic and psyche drony.
8) simple real drum beat comes through (boxy mic’ed bass drum), looping spaciness, with treated sax sound.
9) funky electro feel, sparse
10) beatless, very chill despite subliminal noise
11) 3rd eye fnd comes through on this one, looping off-beat, drony and hypnotic
12) Amon Tobin beat without the complexity, that’s all really
13) starts with about a minute of silence, quietly builds to drony rainlike noise, silent out-tro too.
