Folk flavorings with fiddle and accordian give this an Irish rock a la Pogues flavor quite often. Otherwise, its folk tinged rootsy Americana pop rock with Mike Ness (social distortion) sorta vocals that make me realize how faux accented Ness really was, unless he changed his name from “mc nessarthy”. Sometimes its straight folk pop rock, but it shines best with the twang. For fans of Pogues, Americana in general (but not the shoe gazing species, this is frat party style, tap the keg, serve em up). Local folks, on the Better Youth Organization label (a 20 year old label run by the Youth Brigade bros.).
