I loved this CD! This is subtle Japan pop w/ creative guitar, experimental electronics, and ambient sampling. It gets noisy at points, and it gets strange, but there’s always something coherent – it just works. I especially loved track 6. But also try: 3,5,7,9,11.
1. Short intro – some guitar plucks & electronic noises, goes into #2
2. Snappy drum breaks, guitar strums and vocal pop flavors
3. Wacky song, herky-jerky funky riffs & electronics, addictively catchy chorus
4. Watery splashes & drips add a lot to this squishy pop song
5. Guitars & electronic noodling build up to a funky intensity
6. This is a beautiful song!!! Subtle guitars, crickets chirping, lovely melody
7. Pretty intro, builds into uptempo dance-pop, works beautifully w/ bird chirps
8. Hard-chargin’ bangin’ guitars & noisy electronics
9. A wacky reinterpretation of classic bossa song “Brazil” – nice!
10. Noisy and intense guitar/electronic riffs but soft melodic vocals
11. Ocean sounds & slightly manipulated jazz horns that sound a bit off – but cool
