Heavy strains of Nick Cave typecast this effort from Slim Cessna member side project. Acoustic guits, strings, swingy loungy driving galloping beats, minor themes. Some of this is so unabashedly Nick Cave rip-off that it dumbfounds me. Later tracks are straighter alt country, psyche and more original, better. 1) dark acoustic rhythmic, Nick Cave galloping feel, unabashed Cave rip, admit it 2) swingy galloping 3) slow dark waltz, with Hammond, FCC (I guess, can you say “titties?”. Cant eat just one of them!) 4) swingy galloping 5) slow dark swing w/ bowed bass 6) lo-fi guit, sparser 7) hillbilly feel w/ banjo, alt country 8) ballady rich dark song 9) psychedelic minor/eastern jam feel 10) banjo ballad 11) cool swingy western w/ fem backs 12) voice intro, very western, alt country story telling ballad | ||
