Straight-bop piano-trio session, very "normal" sounding, but with great personality and some good ideas. Maybe I'm just going on Williams' reputation, but she seems to have plenty of fresh tricks up her sleeve. Lots of unusual little flurries and asides in her playing - check the start of #3 or the theme in #4, or the sneaky soloing in #2.
Like Chuco Valdes, Williams is able to infuse joy into her playing, which makes the disc a casual, well-executed romp.
