Industrial Jazz Group: City of Angles Label: Innova

Some interesting jazz here that incorporates unusual melodic & rhythmic shifts, along with experimental-out-there interludes. Some tracks bounce along like a march w/ wacky rhythms, some are more low key. Try: 1,3,4,6,13.

1. like an off-kilter marching band marching along
2. speaking, then horn blast like didgeridoo
3. decidedly upbeat & cheery w/ a bit of bop flavor
4. tinkly vibraphones reverberating in this more low-key piece
5. like a piano comes knocking on your door asking serious questions
6. variety of cheery horn jams – a bit on the funky tip
7. odd medieval jazz march – has a strange chamber music vocal thing at the end
8. long piano tones w/ weird nervous staccato effects reverberating
9. happy-go-lucky flute melodies & bouncing bop bassline
10. smoky bop atmosphere w/ horn melodies like to a Pink Panther soundtrack
11. bouncy bop bassline w/ strange & humorous melodic changes
12. clicky rattle-y noises like peanuts in a can; then applause
13. loose bop w/ some strange grindy sounds & snappy piano licks
14. uptempo rolling bass, a variety of loose jams
