Great, richly jazzy session with piano, sax and bass. Draws from late-period Coltrane but also from classic straightahead jazz -- these guys establish grooves so well that you don't even miss the drummer.

Avram Fefer on sax is the actual leader here, but Bobby Few (piano) is listed first because he's better known. Fefer takes most of the solos, carving out deep and blazing lines. Every track rules.

1- Fast rollilng boogie-woogie! With fierce warbling sax and a sparkly-scattery piano attack.

2- Slow smoky jazz tune, gorgeous piano solo. A tribute to Mingus.

3- Slow/midtempo groove. Expansive and reflective, with occasional viciousness.

4- Mingus cover. Mid/fast and swinging, with nice bluesy touches and a concert-hall-style piano solo.
