Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend

Ultra hip mostly breakish electrobeats but with lots of real electric and upright bass composition above. As cd progresses it moves from a simple breakish post-rock tone into high avante jazz and you realize this guy is really on to something. Or on something. Either way, its pretty advanced instrumental progressive stuff. Looks local too (Oakland?).

1) breaky steppy electro percussion w/ sorta post rock feeling bass playing
2) Creative layered bass playing, more breakish electro perc, kicks into somewhat rock feel late briefly
3, 4) full on break beats w/ mindful bass playing
5) mellow post rock feel with real drums disjunct
6) ambient twisted environmental sounds, break beats with pauses mellow
7) electro manipulated upright bass pitzacato, avante and creative and excellent
8) long pitz solo followed by horns and breakbeats, horns elevate the avante jazziness of all of this stuff
9) noisier amalgam, cool
