Grassi and his PoBand return with special guest John Tchicai. Most of the tracks are composed, a departure from the previous completely improvised sessions. The band still has the joyous free feeling though which makes it so exciting to listen to. The lack of production (esp tinny clarinets) is always a drag on regular stereo equipment, but this is an excellent session. 1. Raunchy New Orleans-style stomp 2. Loping quiet groove 3. Almost controlled improv 4. Happy, bouncy jaunt 5. Quiet birdsong improv, builds slightly 6. Loud full joyous sound 7. Raucous trombone to start, then full band 8. Fun improv | ||
