Little-known artists from Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, and Mozambique with music that combines African, Portuguese, and Brazilian rhythms, influences, and traditions. Read the notes & bios. One guy repairs radios because musicians can’t make a living in Cape Verde, and one (Ze Manel) now lives in Oakland. It’s all worth a play – honest.

2. Gentle vocal harmonies, swaying strings. Nice.
3. Slower w/gorgeous, delicate fem. vox, romantic strings.
*4. Swaying & lush w/some nice orchestral touches.
5. Cool instrumental for acoustic guitars, drums, scraper.
*6. Nice strings, mid-tempo. A nice little dance.
7. Semba for vox, keyboards, drums, guitar. Nice.
