French jazz/pop. The voice is breathy and thin, but there’s a cool band and overall it works (in small doses). It’s got a decidedly 50’s/60’s kind of retro thing with a Bardot meets Hefner kind of feel. By track 8 I did want to slap her, though. But that’s just me. *1. Soft, waif-whisper with a quiet, retro-jazz feel. *2. Mid-tempo jazz swing w/sex-kitten vocals. 3. Fast vocals, slow bass/guitar. Odd. *4. Like track #2, this time with a swinging sax. 5. Sea sounds, lazy vocals. 6. Lightly bouncy w/vox/guitar/piano/etc. 7. Playfully sexy samba. 8. Relaxed little late-night purr. *9. Sexy vocal duet. 10. Simple melody, rather too sweet. 11. Mid-tempo romp for the easily pleased. 12. Bouncy guitar/soft vocals, a bit faster. 13. A strange, slow song…like her date dumped her at the circus. 21 January 2003 | ||
