that sticker below does not lie. take the super-quiet-then-super-rock-out music of mogwai and add in the mildly-whiney male vocals of death cab for cutie and you've got the rum diary. but don't get me wrong - all the tracks are pretty decent and interesting and play-worthy. my advice? try #5 if you've got the time (it's over 12 min long) - it's pretty cool. oh yeah, and watch those levels!
