General: This record is basically one song and three remixes. As the title suggests it’s about war and its awful consequences. It has major FCC issues because it revolves around two key curse words in its attempt to highlight how bad war is.
1. Drum foundation in funky kind of style (mainly cymbals and high hat); on top of that a male vocalist with tenor-like voice and group of other males sing chants of protest against war in dialog form (the form reminds me of army drill type of chants; but of course in funky singing style). As the title suggests it is about nuclear war, and its awful consequences; the problem is that: FCC Warning: “Motherf***ers”, and “ass” are repeated constantly. It’s a little repetitive, so it becomes kind of tedious at some point.
2. Remix of track 1; drum and synth foundation and the same male sings the lead chant, but the response now comes from a group of 11 children instead of the other male singers. FCC Warning: Young children sing “Motherf***ers”, and “ass” over and over again. It’s a little repetitive, so it becomes kind of tedious.
3. Remix of track 1 with a jazz band this time, that includes piano/sax/trumpet/percussions. Same male vocalist and other males chanting in dialog, and some rapping in the background from the jazz band. Same FCC Warning: “Motherf***ers”, and “ass” are repeated constantly. And again, and in spite of Jazz band, it’s a little repetitive, so it becomes kind of tedious. The only highlight is a sax solo, but it takes too long to get there (until minute 6 or so) and the solo itself is kind of long (about 7 min).
4. Electronica remix of track 2 (synths and drums). Same FCC Warning as track 2: Young children sing “Motherf***ers”, and “ass” over and over again. The electronica mix is decent, but it still feels a little repetitive.
