Mix of prog/rock/chamber. Most tracks have a gentle rock flow rather than a beat. Soaring drawn-out expansive male vocals, soft guitar, violin, bass, drums. Lots of pace changes in each song. The music is terrific and interesting, but sometimes the lingering, drawn-out lyrics are a step behind where the faster-paced pushing forward music is. Maybe that’s where the sticker’s “opera” reference comes in. Sounds heavily-produced in parts. Recommend 2,3,7.
– instrumental, violin, beautiful acoustic guitar, percussion
– lo-fi preachy voice and clattering background noise with gentle instrumental opening, soaring male vocals with rolling guitar and drum beat, tempo changes, gets pretty rocking by the end
– alternates between hard rock with guitar, bass, drums, and gentle guitar strumming with slow, paced vocals
– straight-up fast rock with a violin interlude
– alternating fast/slow paces
– alternating sections of ringing guitar, wavy vocals, with gentle rhythm
– gentle rolling pace, good fit between vocals and music pace
– louder guitars, rock beat, has a short break followed by ominous drum beat and distant guitar sounds
– long (9 min), typical stuff for first 3 min., then 6 min. of lo-fi background noises and voices, including a crying child and an alarm
