"Electric" album from Dave Douglas, big and fun. It's tempting to compare to Miles Davis' electric period, but this is tighter and song-oriented.

Snappy and often funky songs with dashes of organ or guitar here and there, and Davis playing aggressive, crisp solos. Lots of tabla too, adding some lushness. Electronics are added mostly as sound effects -- zooms and swoops to augment the mood. Big and fun overall.

*- Fast funk/fusion, in multiple phases. Exciting.
*- Slow and swaying, w/a loud jam segment
- Slow staggery blues
*- Quick little bop jam
*- Midtempo, touches of New Orleans stomping, psychedelic guitar solo.
- Calm and cool
- Slow, lamenting.
*- Fast, racing. Cool drum break.
- Atmospheric, w/weird-ass spoken word (text by a Uruguayan poet)
- Mellow
*- Funky, resembling Miles' electric jams
- "hidden" track, slow w/ lots of tweaky electronics
