Gallagher, who died sometime in the mid-90s, was known primarily as a blues guitarist but this posthumous album pulls together more folk-informed songs from the guitarist’s catalog. There isn’t much to say except that the songs, while definitely folk songs – with a particular Irish feel to them a la Billy Bragg – are not without the blues feel for which Gallagher is known. All the songs are good, featuring some intense, energetic, and detailed guitar work.
