Flamenco finds its mid-eastern roots. Percussionist Ramzy teams up w. German flamenco guitarist. Very complex, muilt-level songs w/ North African, Spanish, and Middle-Eastern influences. Solid and substantial fare.
1. Mid-tempo guitar, clapping, oud, multi-layered percussion.
2. Bellydance perc., pensive oud & violin. Nice guitar solo. North Afr. Feel.
3. Slow, emphatic guitar, clapping later intensifies. More trad. flamenco.
4. Driving perc., jazzy feel, intense violin interplays w/ oud, guitar.
5. Mid-tempo Ethereal oud, grows into violin/guitar piece. Blends Spain & N. Africa.
6. March-like rhythm w/ winding guitar, oud.
7. Flowing, soaring violin piece. Slow, pretty.
8. Solo oud, then bellydance rhythm w/ guitar and pipes soloing on top. Complex.
9. Pensive flamenco, many pauses, picks up steady, slow beat, which then speeds up.
10. Indian male/fem vox, syllabic chanting.
11. N. Afr. perc., oud, wailing, catchy violin.
12. Slow, stately guitar & percussion, later speeds up.
13. Bellydance rhythm tightly interlaced w/ guitar & violin.
Interesting use of percussive pauses.
