Sterling – Sterling

Sterling’s first LP contains long moody meandering songs that incorporate droney and twangy guitars, keyboards, noise, and drums. All instrumental quartet from Chicago. I like it and not just cause they have a cool name.

((1)) short intro piece. Organ, choppy beats, swirly samples and cymbals.
((2)) piano and twangy guitar based melodrama. Pretty in parts.
((3)) slow and mellow twangy guitar based at first. The drums slowly intensify. Slows down again at end. **ends with ~45sec very low volume rumbling noise.**
4) dark and discordant piano, drums and guitar jam.
((5)) noisy, high pitched slow squeaks, discordant drums, droning guitar.
6) breaks out of the noise of the previous track into an upbeat song that does get harsher.
7) (starts off real quiet) noisy sounds with distorted crunchy drums. (** last 20 sec silence**)
8) dark, slow piece. Starts with piano, but turns into a guitar-based piece with some synths coming in later.
