This is a solid collection of downtempo jazzy techno a la Luke Vibert, with a lot of funky scratching and samples and even a little rapping for texture. Acoustic instruments (piano, bass, sax) lend to the full, lush sound, with constant scratching and bleeps and downtempo beats skewing things electronicwise. For chill instrumentals, I like 2 and 9, but all are good. For some light rapping, I like 7 and 3. 7 is weird and great.
1. Cheery chimes, chill beat, spoken sample saying “relax”, then frenetic scratching that still sounds chill. Short.
.standard non-sequitur vocal samples, amon tobin-esque bass and piano give loungey feel. varied and interesting. frenetic scratching as background. nice chill track.
.some rapping, watery mellow atmosphere otherwise.
.minute-long cheesy voice sample.
.loungey piano, scratchy old-record beat. newage melodies on top. relaxing.
.short (2 min) melodic but goofily off-key interlude
.Dire electronic base with heartfelt saxophone on top intermixed with distorted rapping. Transition from sax to rap to sax will make you quiver.
.Standard upbeat rhythm, a decent (if unexceptional) downtempo track.
.Marching band beats lead into some very jazzy techno with odd samples.
