A mixed bag of flamenco, salsa, Afropop versions of American pop songs. I’d play it all for the amusement value, but a few really are quite good. It’s a very fun collection, and interesting to hear the interpretations these artists bring to these well-known songs.

*1. Flamenco Lou Reed cover. So odd it’s kinda fun.
*2. Swinging, retro-Brazilian version of Hit the Road Jack.
3. Light kora, percussion, mid-tempo & quiet.
4. Senegalese hip-hop cover of Toto. (Remember them?)
*5. Gospel-inspired, down-tempo & smooth.
6. Zydeco bounce to this Jackie Wilson classic.
*7. Cheesy fun, 3 Malian women do Hall & Oates.
8. Afro-funk tribute to Jimi Hendrix.
*9. A quirky Euro/Cajun/Salsa sound.
10. French hip-hop – interesting blend of kitsch & cool.
11. A bit overdone, but the harmonies are lovely.
*12. Check this out, an Okinawan girl group doing Bob Marley on the Shamisen.
