Hmm. I can be a bit ignorant about these kinds of things, but I was a bit underwhelmed by this one. Memory Systems is a man and woman doing the “nu-electro” thing, which may remind you (no pun intended) of Adult., except that this CD gets boring quick. It may have just taken me a longer time to get sick of this, but I really am. The songs are loosely arranged around themes of technology, media, isolation, same as many of Adult.’s songs, and yet these just sound tired. To be honest though, it wouldn’t sound as bad if the station hadn’t gotten tons of this stuff recently. Listen for yourself though.

Creepy evil witch vocals and bubbly synths.
Danceable synths, but the vocals are grating.
A bit of a harsher sound, but again, it’s the vocals that get to me: sugary, but in a totally ironic, “detached” way.
Cheap synth that sounds like something straight out of a bad dance comp they’d advertise on late-night TV.
Vocoded vocals and sort of fuzzy beat.
Instrumental, making it a bit more tolerable than the others.
Another instrumental. This belongs in a video game.
Tricky, stuttery synth, but the same obnoxious vocals rear their head.
