Driven mostly by sad, intimate male vocals alongside slightly spacey folky guitar, Arco produces a decent record here. The best part of the sound is his voice, which is sweet, sad, comforting, and almost soft enough to be a girl’s voice. Despite a lot of songs sounding pretty similar, the use of keyboards, piano, bassoon, and drums help the variation. Several songs are mediocre, but with the songs I like, I like a lot. Think also of Acetone. 5, 1, 2, 3, 10

1. flanged out guitar and voice, bluesy riff. sad and still, then builds.
2. distant beat with sweet vocal melody and organ. bassoon is ok.
3. slow, pretty piano with muted pathetic voice. great!
4. strummed guitars with guitar, grows louder, with drums, piano.
5. slow and lazy, with harmonica, guitar, and drums. sweet.
6. quiet arpeggiated guitar with voice.
7. almost midtempo song with strummed guitars and band. Ok.
8. rhythmic piano and quiet sung-spoken voice. not as good as #3
9. strummed guitar and voice. quiet synth solo behind.
10. acoustic guitar, band comes in midway and makes much better.
