Outside-jazz quartet with lots of fun facets and plenty of energy. This is the latest compositional vehicle for local saxophonist Aaron Bennett, combining jazz with elements of rock or classical depending on the piece.

Lots of loud, crazy guitar from John Finkbeiner. Also LOTS of traditional jazz elements - quite a few numbers here swing, even. Adam Lane on bass is awesome in both contexts -- his solos are a real highlight (true of any CD he's on).

Plenty of noisy stuff here, but fans of more traditional jazz shouldn't miss 4, 6

1*- Jazz meets Black Sabbath. Dark and guitar-heavy. Also a cool, quieter bass-drums interlude. Great stuff.
2- Slow, darkly dreamy
3*- Hyper!
4- Spritely, complex swing.
5- Fast. Punk, a bit of klezmer, some quiet improv interludes.
6*- Cool Monk-inspired swing. Great bass solo.
7- Spazzy guitar
8- Fast semi-tribal beat, with a total free freakout interlude
9- Sun-Ra cover, a funky beat with plenty of sci-fi noises
