Free jazz, entirely improvised, with (mostly) sax, piano and cello. Recorded in SF at Noe Valley Ministry. Lots of scattery Cecil Taylor-like piano and aggressive, fast-flowing sax. Pianist Futterman also gets off the piano to add extra sax playing sometimes.

Futterman and Levin have been a tag-team duo for some time, and they've worked with cellist Killian quite a bit. They do a good job building comprehensible structures out of thin air,

Disk features two 40-minute sets of music, each divided into three tracks for indexing purposes.

1*- Opens with bright flute/cello duet, moving into a perky two-sax segment. Nice declarative ending.
2- Very quiet for 5 minutes, then more aggressive. Nice soaring piano chords around -4:00.
3*- Gets into a cute boppin' rhythm for a bit, followed by a fast scattery zone. Calm middle with cool soaring chords around -6:30.

4- Mystical wanderings, starts slow then speeds up. Twangy stringed instrument (the "serangi"?)
5- Takes a while to coalesce but hits a fast dynamic patch that crests at the halfway point. Second half quiet, includes some lovely soloing over a really cool little cello riff.
6*- Gets into soaring dramatic territory after a few minutes -- lots of high cello and big piano chords. Peaceful ending.
