Jet Black Crayon "Mean Streets" - Tommy Guerrerro and company on a couple basses, beats, and turntables. This has two cool groovers on it. Side A has the best song, but unfortunately it's got the FCC's too. Heavy bass and nice scratching. The beats are pretty chill and create a great mood. Side B is nice too. I wanted the song to be a little slower, but it still totally works. If you're looking for something to groove to look no further.
My Picks: A(fcc)
Katie P. 7/2/03

A) Fades in with voice samples. Then the bass kicks in. Ooo yeah. This is seriously groovy. Cool keyboards and nicely placed scratching. Builds up with a great driving groove. Fcc: says "fuck" several times. Slowly fades out to voice samples again.

B) Starts with some organ droning. Beats come in. This is total mood music. Faster midtempo song with a lot of layered instruments. Voice samples near the end from the educational voice genre. I think this songs would be better if it were slower, but it's still cool.
