Album Review
Reviewed 2003-09-22
Eight improvisations played by the first three musicians, engineered and live mixed by the fourth. As you would expect from these musicians and this label, this is deeply abnormal stuff with live resampling, unusual instruments, evil cackling laughter, and general disorientation through sound manipulation. An aural funhouse. Good stuff.

1. Tinny, megaphone-d laughter gives way to guitar tone bending, burbly noises, and a lot of amp hiss
2. Chattery guitar, a few whistles, and then a frantic percussion mess
3. Shimmery guitar strums with squeaky noises; after a bit of a cool-down period in the middle, percussion takes over, at first flailingly, then powerfully
4. Sharp and harsh James Blood Ulmer-like guitar tribute to Ornette; Boisen messes with your head by going soft-loud and left-right
5. Irish jig over grumbling guitar strokes; later a sort of jazzy but trebly arpeggio guitar bit is counterposed against echo-y, far-away pipes; to round out the oddity, a jaw harp jumps in at the last moment
6. Power-noise – feedback, extended noise generation techniques – alternates with quiet guitar contemplation and insect-chirping sounds; maybe evocative of a logging operation in an otherwise quiet forest
7. Swirling mass of sound with relatively less structure and relatively more instruments and “objects” employed – guitars, horns, percussion, Casio, ocarina
8. Seethingly rapid-fire and tense, with repetitive guitar, brushed drums, and game calls
