Nervous and the Kid -- s/t
Country-ish indie/folk rock. Catchy, a bit sloppy, sweet, pensive, are all adjectives I'd use to describe this first album from these California kids that recently moved to Portland. Some songs are more indie pop, some more folk/country. I especially liked the sloppier country/folk tracks (3, 5, 7), that have a jug-band 3/4 oom-pa-pa feel. A couple of the tracks are a bit psychedelic/indie rock (6,8). Overall, quite enjoyable! Somewhat reminiscent of the Mountain Goats or Neutral Milk Hotel.

7. jug-band feel -- good -- contains old kids song "here we go loopy-loop" at end
8. slight psych feel -- spare melody, female vocs
9. short interlude with backwards music
