Alright, here it is the new US Maple. These guys are freaks! Jarring jangly, angular guitars, heavy Syncapated drum grooves that frees up at times and of course the snake-like chanting of singer Al Johnson. Think about it this way. Beefheart & Pere Ubu have kids together and they get a robotussen -filled Mick Jagger to do the singing. This album is a bit straighter than previous Maple records. Actual Catchy melodies can be heard in places! Inventive song structures. I love it, I love these guys, they are gods! PLAY!!! ÐthE bAWD of euphony
- Jangly guitars pulse and straight beat rocks out throughout, Cool Breakdown in middle
* Moody guitars and vox start. Drum pulse begins then launches with Al screetching! Semi-catchy chorus groove.
** Dirty guitar, very open sounding. Jazz? Semi-catchy chorus enters as softly as these guys are capable of doing. Great Feel! Yes, I think Al is actually crooning! Did I mention Sonic youth?
* Pulsing guitars slow down and warp with free drums. Riffage! Angular groove. I smell Beefheart
** Ok I love this song. Wandering guitar starts, whole band builds into epic, slow, dark groove. Standout track, PLAY!
- Swelling strummed guitar gets nasty. AC/DC really really drunk! Death march enters!
** A Bob Dylan cover! Lay Lady Lay. Awesome!
** Great groove over plinky plunky guitars. This Rocks out! Gets open and FreeÉ Great!
- 12-string Acoustic version of guitar riff from first song.
* Broken rhythm, wandering guitars. Cool as shit! Organs enter for a while. Very Odd
