Strong free-bop session, very much a jazz sound but with chaotic free-improv solo segments. Keeps a good energy level even on the slower tracks. Band is led by aggressive sax and some out-there guitar, with violin and cello thrown in for some nice texture. Energetic writing full of dramatic short punches.
1*- Sparsely mid/fast. Dramatic violin solo.
2*- Choppy mid/fast, smart-alecky
3- Mid/slow, creeping
4- Mid/fast, dramatic; drifty soloing space

6- Cartoony; quietly quick. Jittery improv middle.
7*- Fast, jumpy, skittish. With slow wandering interludes.
8- Quiet; starts midtempo, gets into drawn-out improv
