KING TUBBY – The Roots of Dub
Moll-Selekta, 2003

REGGAE – Reissue of two 1970s albums by King Tubby & Bunny Lee. This is dub done the old-fashioned way, so these are just the bass & rhythm tracks from roots reggae songs, with the requisite reverb effects added and vocals taken down to zero (but you can hear ‘em if you listen REAL close to some tracks). It’s very raw, with occasional oddities in balance and levels.

Track listings seem pointless, since there isn’t much variation between tracks (and almost no variation within them). These riddims will make good fillers, segues, and soundbeds, but aren’t interesting enough for anything else unless you’re already stoned.
