Low Skies -- The Bed
Dark midwestern alt-county - gothic-country vocals, great slide guitar, pounding drums, and some distortion effects at times (a la Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot). Haunting dark alt-country soundscapes and vocals that range from deep moans to a high falsetto. Most of the tracks are on the longer side - 5-7 minutes so they at times drag on a bit but overall quite good. Reminiscent of Handsome Family, Sixteen Horsepower.

PICS: 2, 5, 6, 9

1. swirling wind effect, pounding drums
2. starts slow then drums and great screaming reminiscent of nick cave -- my favorite track
3. good keyboards, snare drum rolls
4. lap steel, thom yorke-esque vocals
5. slower, train noises and distorted voice, good
6. country waltz
7. slow moper, vocals sound like jeff tweedy, long (7:30)
8. country ballad
9. dark swing
10. slow, falsetto vocals
