Experimental electronica with a hint of lo-fi is the easiest way for me to describe this album.
Disparate sounds coalesced to bring together something that disappears as soon as it enters your ears. I use the word “something” because music as is it categorized today is what Tse Tse is not. Horns, acoustic guitar and strings echo the abstract and melancholy sound produced by Yvonne Cornelius (aka Niobe) and give us a taste of what is going on in that head of hers. Not for the faint of heart, Tse Tse is a record that definitely has to grow on you.

the good: extremly different and unique sounds, samples and use of instruments
the bad: it doesn't follow a set pattern, so if you like your music in some sort of structure, this is not for you
the ugly: nuthin' really
potty-mouth tracks: none detected

(note: rating numbers are out of 10 and following each track description)
1.Prolog: spoken German track; no music (0) 2.Out of Linbo: piano with female vocals echoing in the background; something that would fit a David Lynch movie well (8) 3.Good Old Owl: hip-hop-like sounds on the intro and then moves to odd sounding samples (6) 4.Black it Out: distant voices in the background joined by percussion (6) 5.Tic Tac: bass line as intro; interesting samples (7) 6.Always Pointing Skyward: 50s-style sound; interesting vocals; short (5) 7.Virgin de Guadalupe: starts w/ percussion-drums and moves to odd-sounding percussion (6) 8.Nachtsendung: 40-50s-style voice; has guitar and piano in background; cartoon-like song (7) 9.Little things of Frenzy: starts with bells; has low-sounding bass; odd vocals (6) 10.Sanoukiki: odd percussion w/ some vocals' interesting orchestra rendition in the middle (7)
