My Ruin The Shape of Things To Come Century Media 2003

Kick-ass uber feminist metal. Kicks Kittie’s ass all the way down the street. Singer Tarrie B. can out scream/growl/cookie monster most metal dudes. This new material has more of a 70’s bent than previous but its still heavy as fuck-all. Two women in the band, intelligent lyrics, head stompin’ metal, what more do you want? “The antidote to the nu metal nightmare currently suffocating America’s youth” says the one-sheet. Yesssss.

1) FCCs, see track 5 for radio clean vers.
2) heavy head banger
3) slow dark intro w/ spoken word intro, shifts into scream vocals, machine gun kick drum, think Black Sabbath fronted by Lydia Lunch
4) upbeat metal-punk beat, nice slow breakdown in the middle
5) 70’s rock channeling the Priest, pissed off anti-anorexia, female image consciousness lyrics, PLAY THIS! For Karen (carpenter)
