Hattattak -- Heart Kid

Unique indie rock/folk/blues -- Excellent 6-song EP from local group fronted by Feller Quentin. Difficult to pigeonhole into a particular genre -- a mix of indie rock, country, blues, story-telling folk, with slights hints of jazzy jam rock. Interesting lyrics that tell stories about things like favorite pairs of pants, missing daughters, hands talking to gloves, robberies, lost love. Songs frequently progress through different tempos -- slow jazzy rock periods then rocking out then returning to slow, folky beauty. All the tracks are good!

1. Starts with chanting -- then country-ish drums and guitar, changes speeds --slow and faster periods -- great!
2. great lyrics -- "one day the arm said the the sleeve" --slower
3. robbery story -- midtempo, speeds up a bit toward end
4.good! -- starts with drums and jazzy guitar noodling --lyrics about his favorite pairs of pants -- rocks outs a bit towards then then returns to jazzy theme
5. tale of a missing daughter -- slow at beginning then rocks out toward end
6. uptempo country at beginning, then slows down at end -- lost love
