Bischoff has been performing electronic music in the Bay Area since the mid 70’s and has been teaching at Mills College since 1992. His compositions are always rich, abstract and complex. The tracks were recorded from 1999 through 2002. Track 1 represents his typical style of establishing multiple scenes and randomly moving between them as the piece moves on. Also try #5&7. Note there are no time notations on jacket sleeve or cd
.***Piano 7hz 10:19 Thick textures and colors. Processed piano chords. Snapshot views abruptly moving between and returning to multiple worlds.
.Interlude 7:01 Begins with series of clicks and clacks with long transitions. Multiple overlapping of scenes.
.Graviton 7:33 Abrupt raspy textures with long slow transitions. Some deep sub-harmonic effects.
.Immaterial States 9:32 Begins with low clean tones and slowly builds up speed, texture and tension over the first 7 minutes. The composition then begins to unwind, slow down and return to clean tones. An actual beginning, middle and end.
.***Override 3:52 Non-rhythmic percussive rich bits. Some processed vocals. Good range of Bischoff, and under 4 mins.
.Sealed Cantus 8:12 A collaboration with Kenneth Atchley. The densest track on the cd. Less structure and snapshot scenes as in other works.
.***Aperture 6:30 Begins with long clean lingering overlapping patches. Textures and richness of the patches build but the overall composition remains simple.
