There are exactly four songs on this EP. Black Nielson does indi-rock on the mellow side. Warm vocals, that move into higher pitches, sort of boyish – reminding me of S. Malkmus or Ben Kweller. They sort of have the mellow and big sound that music reviewers might compare to Grandaddy. They do a nice job of balancing mellow noise effects to their organic instrumentation. The last song (4) is very pretty, it reminds me of all the things I always wanted to do but never did. Recommended. – Matt M. Play this song* 1. *Slow rocker – steeped in acoustic guitar with spacey pop rock dreamyness – gentle electric guitar riff. 4:00 2. Down-tempo – lots of synth and interesting use of bell effects. Sort of a big drawn out sound. 5:31 3. Down-tempo – more sparse with more acoustic guitar, sort of has the feel of an altcountry ballad if they put steel guitar in place of the synth. 3:15 4. *Down-tempo – I like this song. There are some nice harmonies and the spacey synth noises sound like bubbles. | ||
