Album Review

Accessible stuff with lots of room to wander; another of Douglas' creatively mainstream sessions. Overall rather gentle, with a sophisticated, cerebral touch, relying heavily on a '60s horn sound. With electric piano for a gently, loungy atmosphere.

Bill Frisell is on guitar here, and many of the tracks were written particularly for him, resulting in a country/blues lilt here (7) or a ghostly echoing passage there (4,6).

1- Rolling, sparkling little piece
2*- Midtempo, lots of free wandering
3- Gentle, w/old-fashioned jazz feel
4- Slow, a bit ghostly
5*- Mid/fast
6- Spacey slowness, relaxing
7- Bar-band rockabilly feel w/soft jazz horns. Bluesy.
8- Mid/fast swaying, peaceful feel
10- Midtempo
11*- Mid/fast, some blazing sax soloing
