Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2004-03-25
Smokin’ Isreali instrumental chamber rock, avante prog, with a mystical, experimental air that makes it pretty damn unique. Think Dead Can Dance mixed w/ Soft Machine, King Crimson, and The Mothers of Invention, with the chamber sense of Birdsongs of the Mesozoic. Hot stuff.

1) starts w/ a Dead Can Dance mystical feel and quickly launches into prog, then back eerily, ending on a high prog note
2) pensive driving prog, minor toned, like Mancini on psychedelics walking through an Israeli outdoor market, multi-faceted w/ cool low-fi production segments smattered about
3) dissonant, piano flute duet
4) dark start to epic EPIC 16 min track combining all elements, tempos, changes, includes “vocals” (treated), very cool, very prog
5) very zappa, guitar w/ tape speed manipulated piano, vice versa
6) Fripp/Belew’esque guitar over another long epic prog-fest
7) brief spooky tape manipulation, would fit in just as well amongst a black metal set
