Album Review

Guitar pop with a jangly '60s sound and lots of harmony vocals. Uplifting, faithfully nostalgic, and a little bit Byrds-like. Great stuff, lots of pretty songs with easy, swaying beats. And yes, it's gentle. Anyone into indie pop should give this one a listen.

This is the band's debut full-length album, but they've been playing around town for four years, developing a solid sound (complemented by some *very* '60s haircuts on a couple of band members). Track 9 is reprised from an EP they did a couple of years ago, and it's one of my favorite songs in recent years, an absolute classic.

1- Mid/fast; wistful and bright
2- Mid/fast, dreamy
3- Mid/slow
4- Midtempo, a touch of country twang
5- Happy road-trip song
6- Slow; a heavier psychedelic sound
7- Mid/fast, precious
8- Fast rolling minor key; spidery guitars. Kind of a spy-movie intro
9- Mid/fast, pretty, nostalgic. Awesome stuff.
