Sublime string trio arrangements of your favorite Masada hits. Note that this isn’t some lame “String Tribute To..”-style wimpy crap. The energy on this disc approaches the intensity found on the Masada live discs, even without Joey Baron blazing away behind the drums. The players obviously know this music inside and out, and Feldman especially shines with Zorn and Douglas style soloing. This is amazing stuff! You can’t go wrong with any of these tracks, the asterisked ones are my favorites.

1. 45 sec of tuning and intros, then a version of the concert staple. Starts in a languid fashion, but Feldman turns it up a notch with his spot-on soloing
*2. Mysterious mood, beautifully arranged with lots of plucked strings
**3. Fast freakout
4. Bouncy jaunt
*5. Stop-start track alternating sweet melody with freakout
*6. Fast off-kilter romp
7. Slow, pretty and contemplative
8. Fast and light
*9. Wonderful cacophony
*10. Powerfully emotive
11. Quick and light
