Balamuralikrishan is the foremost exponent of Carnatic music. He has great voice control and has rich vocals needing nothing but basic musical accompaniments. That is not to undermine the violin performance in this album. The violin decorates the vocals superbly. The lyrics are by the greatest South Indian poet, Thyagaraja celebrating spiritual life. The album puts one in a reflective mood. The track order on the CD cover are incorrect.

Track 1 [14:11]: Velvety vocals, wonderfully accompanied by the instruments. What he sings is repeated by the violin and mridangam at around the 9th min.. Wonderful!

Track 2[10:39]: Starts with a beautiful slow alaap. Mid tempo and holds the same tempo throughout. A typical Carnatic track.

Track 3[5:19]: Vocals, mridangam interleaved beautifully.

Track 4[23:31]: Long preparatory piece leading to the song. Again the violin subtly enhances the effect. Mridangam joins in the 6th minute and the tempo picks up. Ends in a faster combination.

Track 5[5:11]: Similar to #2. Fast mridangam. Typical Carnatic.
